St. Michael’s Gate is one of Bratislava’s ancient landmarks remaining since the 14th century. It’s located in the Old Town and once was a part of the medieval walls that marked the entrance of the city. The modern facade that you see today was modified in the 17th century, which explains its baroque style. At the time, the gate was part of the coronation route of the kings.
